Render is a cloud platform provider that has positioned itself in the market as the next Heroku. Render launched in 2019 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. It is led by Anurag Goel, who was previously an early engineer and Head of Risk at Stripe. His blog post explaining why he started Render serves as a kind of manifesto for the young company.

They raised $20 million in 2021 and made managed Redis generally available in 2022. They have offered PostgreSQL since launch and were among the first cloud providers to support PostgreSQL 14 when it was released.
